In the historic Toronto district of Leslieville comes another condo building. But this isn’t just any other condo building. The Grove will consist of twenty-eight exclusive suites spread on six levels. Carefully designed and elegantly modelled, these suites bring old world charm and character into a new build design.

Though the building is not expected to complete until 2023,  the team behind The Grove have designed a stunning presentation model to show their buyers what they should expect from their stunning suites.

We have seen hundreds of new build condos. They can be cookie-cutter and lacking of character. But this one is different. Keep reading below and see for yourself why.

PRESENTATION CENTRE + MODEL SUITE: A MODERN CLASSIC

The team converted an old garage building in the neighbourhood into the sales + presentation centre. This is where clients can walk through and get the true vision of what building features will look like.

The design of the space is timeless. Those coming through will be welcomed in with a charming green emblem. It resembles a classic monogramed wax seal on a charming letter envelope, very posh.

A lot of the design inspiration seems to come from the Victorian era, with various influences throughout. From the marketing material to the furnishings of the site and suite renderings.

Additionally, a stunning feature wall, designed with a mix of sea green tiling , displays the building’s logo. Green velvet bar stools and vintage seating furnish the sitting area. The choice of a black industrial chandelier was a smart one, mirroring the oversized windows (Which were once garage doors).

VINTAGE + MODERN

Two identical light fixtures frame the waiting area, which displays mix matched seating and boho chic tables.
The mixture of modern and vintage pieces brings such charm to the space. The design can challenge any boutique cafe or speakeasy. You feel like you can spends hours here, with a nice cup of coffee and a good book. Or just chat away, admiring the surroundings throughout.

ELEGANT DESIGN BOARDS

Each design palette is elegantly crafted to showcase the stunning suite finishes.  A part of the marketing for this development has been the creation of multiple design boards, using standard and upgraded features that purchasers can choose from.
The attention to detail is stunning. It is apparent that the design team has crafted an experience for each palette. Whether you like more of a dramatic flair, like the deep green and browns, or a calming charm with the soft pastel blue. There is an option for all.

MODEL SUITE: VINTAGE EUROPEAN CHARM

This design of this suite perfectly showcases what the building’s identity will be.  ” A contemporary contrast to the charming Victorian architecture” . Even though it is only a rendering, there is a clear vision of what to expect in the finished product.

The structural finishes of this suite are bleak, but the choice of furniture and decor take it to another level of elegance and sophistication. The focal point has got to be that stunning chandelier! And the pops of green and gold throughout add a fun Parisian charm.

The true genius is the versatility of the space. This comes to show the importance of smart design. Even if you are working with a blank slate (which most new build condos are), you can build character through the pieces you chose. In this suite, its Parisian meets Victorian with a modern twist!

Above: A much more modern design palette,  with a mix of dark cabinetry. Modern mid-century furnishings are used throughout.

Victorian elements are continued in the wall panelling located at the back wall near the stairwell.

LOBBY AREA + WET BAR

With a marble fireplace, stunning antique mirror, and a stunning wet bar (equipped with a fun neon sign that holds an important message for us all!), this is a fun lobby area to entertain in.

The coffered ceiling is designed with a Victorian pattern in its centre. Contrasted with a modern light fixture, the room gives a lobby-ish feel that is both warm and welcoming.  Simple wall panelling is used throughout.

The look of The Grove really has a uniqueness to it. Especially when compared to the rest of the condo buildings going up in the city which, for the most part, give no sense of charm or character in the least. This statement from the developers says it best, “The contemporary interior design of The Grove is a bold and fresh homage to the character of Leslieville. Decorative architectural details throughout pay tribute to the Victorian heritage of this neighbourhood. The surrounding greenery and urban park spaces inspire a dynamic and natural colour palette. Ranging from muted and airy hues to distinctly more dramatic tones, the standard colour selections embody your unique interpretation of functional living.”
